| Summary | 0000968: [SWAN] Implementation of BT key on the front panel | ||||
| Description | Hi Mr. Kang We have a question about implementation of BT key on the front panel. According to SKB requirement: SKB_FRONTKEY_0005 https://confluence.skbroadband.com/pages/viewpage.action?spaceKey=BTVSBOX&title=SKB+requirements Key for Bluetooth Pairing BT Advertising should be performed only when the BT Key of STB is pressed (waiting for pairing). Timeout is 120 seconds (2 minutes), and it ends when BT Key is pressed again. The owner of this item are OEM and MW. Foxconn has implemented the Key mapping of front panel I have checked the behavior of AI2, when we pressing BT key, we can see the following message in logcat 02-14 08:36:41.662 780 780 D btrcu.BtSkbRcuService: [SKBRCU] Received: android.bluetooth.a2dp-sink.profile.action.SINK_CHANGED 02-14 08:36:41.662 780 780 E btrcu.BtSkbRcuService: mA2dpSinkChangedReceiver 02-14 08:36:41.663 780 780 I A2dpSink: [1.02] A2dpSink = 1 The intent "android.bluetooth.a2dp-sink.profile.action.SINK_CHANGED" is not android standard intent, so I think MW vendor has implemented something in AI2 project when BT key is pressed. Please let us know who is responsible for implementing BT Advertising event. | ||||

Dear Jason, Actually, owner of this item is OEM, if this key is press OEM change BT to sink mode and advertise should be started. Thanks. |
Hi Mr. Jason Ling, We sent 2 AI2 STB to FII when Mr. Sean Chiang returned to Taiwan in July. I think you can refer those STBs. |
Hi Mr. Kang, Does the AI2 have any document (test case) regarding the a2dp sink/source mode switching scenario ? for example: if current is source mode, press BT key on front panel, the mode should change to sink mode. if current is source mode, when mobile device reconnect to a2dp sink, the mode should change to what ? |
Dear Jason, I am sorry but there is no document. When i ask about it to SKB manager, they told me "Please implement same with AI2". What is your problem ? If you give me detailed information about your problem, I will find if there is something help you in korea. Thanks. |

Do you working for this issue..? |
We have one version and still take some time to verify and plan to commit the code before 12/2 if no any critical issues. |
Hi, Jacky Please update it's status. Thanks. |
Hi Jim, Please commit the code this morning. |
first version committed with known issue: 1. Always discoverable |
Hi Jim, Please set system property 'vendor.skb.dev.bt.sinkmode' ( 0 or 1) as current mode after change. 1 = sink mode. Thanks. |
Jim already added the setting system property and please check it. |
I can't see "vendor.skb.dev.bt.sinkmode". Did you apply it..? |
I have a question this issue, I can't pair with some devices ( speaker, earphone etc) but can connect bt keyboard. Is it normal in current version ? If mode change a2dp source, can i pair with ( speaker, earphone etc) ? Please explain. Thanks. |
1. sinkmode property did not set before first change, I'll fix it in next version. please confirm you can see it when you paired the BT-speaker or BT-earphone. 2. It is not normal if you can't pair with any BT-speaker and BT-earphone, please provide the log. 3. "If mode change a2dp source, can i pair with ( speaker, earphone etc) ?" I'm not sure if this is what you wanna know: When the box is currently in "sink mode" (paired with a mobile), try to pair with a BT-speaker will fail. (update, to be more precisely) When the box is currently in "sink mode" (CONNECTED with a mobile), try to pair with a BT-speaker will fail. |
Hi Jim, In current version, i can pair only with apple bt keyboard. I will make new ticket for "can't pair bt devices." with snoop log. Thanks. |
Hi Wooshin, I just remember one thing, we connect to BT-speaker through TvSetting (am start -n com.android.tv.settings/.MainSettings) Please guide me how to connect from the HomeUI |
I found the path so please ignore last message. It should be the same as TvSetting. |
Dear Jim, Yesterday, I never can pair even though several tries but today is OK. If issue happen again, i will report. Thanks |
Dear jim, When i pair bt speaker, sound should be output from bt speaker but there is no sound on BT speaker. https://jira.skbroadband.com/browse/BTVQ-18272?filter=-1 thanks. |
Dear Jim Please update about this issue. |
Hi Wooshin, After I committed the "preliminary version of New Audio Routing Table" on 12/17 pm 9:12 taiwan time, this no sound on BT speaker issue should be gone. Please check it. |
I have checked it, but this is no sound still. |
Hi Wooshin, Which image did you use to test? After I committed code on 12/17 pm9:12, we did not release image to you except a special image to for HDMI volume level adjust. |
Image is making by daily build on build sever of SKB manager. |
Please update current status and give a target date. |
Hi Wooshin, River is OOO today and he will check audio routing for this issue. However, because he did the testing using the image built on 12/17 and the result is good. So could you kindly provide the daily build F/W to us for verification? Thanks a lot. |
Hi Jacky, I already sent image's link to River and i also wonder if below is implemented < SKB requirment > Key for Bluetooth Pairing BT Advertising should be performed only when the BT Key of STB is pressed (waiting for pairing). Timeout is 120 seconds (2 minutes), and it ends when BT Key is pressed again. |
It is implemented as follow: by default scanmode=SCAN_MODE_CONNECTABLE when bt button pushed, scanmode changes to SCAN_MODE_CONNECTABLE_DISCOVERABLE then, it will set back to SCAN_MODE_CONNECTABLE if one of below happen 1. 120s timeout 2. push bt key again 3. paired with mobile however scanmode=SCAN_MODE_CONNECTABLE did not work for all mobile. iphone is ok, but some android phones can still found UA300 devices in the scan list. we tried another platform and the result is the same, but AI2 works very well. We are still investigating it. About BT-spker output, it belongs to audio-routing issue so please discuss it with River in other threads |

Hi, jim Why "vendor.skb.dev.bt.sinkmode" is always 1. I wonder it. BFX-UA300:/vendor/bin # getprop | grep vendor.skb.dev.bt.sinkmode [vendor.skb.dev.bt.sinkmode]: [1] BFX-UA300:/vendor/bin # getprop | grep vendor.skb.dev.bt.sinkmode [vendor.skb.dev.bt.sinkmode]: [1] BFX-UA300:/vendor/bin # getprop | grep vendor.skb.dev.bt.sinkmode [vendor.skb.dev.bt.sinkmode]: [1] Thanks. |
default mode is sink unless a bt-speaker (earphone jack) is connected. currently the property presents the BT profile status. let me know the details you need, for ex the property should present the "mobile connected status" ? |
1. It should be 1, when you press bt key. 2. And 120 seconds timeout or bt key pressed again, it should be toggled. Thanks. |
Code updated to follow the requested behavior. But when the mobile is connected, I'll toggle the prop to 0. Let me know if you don't want this. |
I think you can change to 0 in following status. 1. Mobile is connected. 2. After 120 secs timeout 3. When you press the button again Thanks. |
Hi Jim, Do you have any update on confirmed behavior provided by Wooshin? |
already done in 0000968:0005586 and I think Wooshin agreed with it in 0000968:0005591 |
I will close it and if any issue will be found, i will reopen. |
Timeout(120 secs) is not implemented. Please check it. |
Hi Mr. Wooshin, I tried the prop and it is ok, could you describe the issue in detail? |
Hi Jim, SPTEK want to change operation scenario for button because there is issue that middleware get wrong property (vendor.skb.dev.bt.sinkmode). The moment receive key event (KEYCODE_SKB_FUNC_21), middleware reads property. So you have to send key event after set property. steps> 1. press button 2. set property (vendor.skb.dev.bt.sinkmode) 3. change bt sink mode 4. Send key event (KEYCODE_SKB_FUNC_21) Thanks. |

Hi, Jim, There is one more requirement for BT sink operation and it's required for SKT NUGU service. Please check the following sequence and implement it. 1. When the front BT button is pressed, if current BT mode is not sink mode, toggle the BT mode and send the broadcast Action="com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_RESPONSE", Value="on" if current BT mode is sink mode, toggle the BT mode and send the broadcast Action="com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_RESPONSE", Value="off" 2. Prepare to receive the broadcast which the Action is "com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_REQUEST", When the "com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_REQUEST" broadcast is received, if the Value of broadcast is "on", if current BT mode is not sink mode, toggle the BT mode and send the broadcast Action="com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_RESPONSE", Value="on" if current BT mode is sink mode, just send the broadcast Action="com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_RESPONSE", Value="already_on" if the Value of broadcast is "off", if current BT mode is not sink mode, just send the broadcast Action="com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_RESPONSE", Value="already_off" if current BT mode is sink mode, toggle the BT mode and send the broadcast Action="com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_RESPONSE", Value="off" If you have any question, please let me know. Thank you. |

Hi, Jim, Could you please update current status for https://mantis.cnsbg.foxconn.com/vaas/view.php?id=968#c7934 ? Thank you. |

Hi Mr Sangmin, Please replace the apk to test the functions # adb install -r xxx.apk to restart the service after install, you could reboot the box, or hit the frontpanel bt-button (or input keyevent 333) Firstly, I'd like to call it "button-mode is ON", when button is pressed, before 120s timeout, and before phone paired Because sending of SKB_FUNC_21 is included in the origianl state machine of button-mode, so the voice indicating the pairing will present. (my FW is built last Friday and I guess M/W not yet implement NUGU_BT_CTRL_RESPONSE ) maybe Sptek (or someone) don't need to check the broadcast NUGU_BT_CTRL_RESPONSE (I guess) try this with test2 apk Then, I spend some time to separate SKB_FUNC_21 event, that is when hitting the frontpanel button, we send SKB_FUNC_21 when receive nugu-bt-ctrl-request, we skip SKB_FUNC_21 try this with test1 apk please check with the owner if test2 could meet their requirement (I prefer test2 because they don't change the state machine) Besides, if you found bugs or you want to change some flow, please grab logcat with "adb logcat -s A2dpDeviceSevice" |

Hi Mr. please check the attached for more information and sorry please ignore page1 |
Hi, Jim, I didn't see your comment, I will update after checking your comment. Thank you. |
Hi, Jim, I'm sorry there was wrong information. The key string for intent is "command" not "Value". Please check the following procedure and please rebuild the APK for test. 1. When the front BT button is pressed, if current BT mode is not sink mode, toggle the BT mode and send the broadcast Action="com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_RESPONSE", command="on" if current BT mode is sink mode, toggle the BT mode and send the broadcast Action="com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_RESPONSE", command="off" 2. Prepare to receive the broadcast which the Action is "com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_REQUEST", When the "com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_REQUEST" broadcast is received, if the command of broadcast is "on", if current BT mode is not sink mode, toggle the BT mode and send the broadcast Action="com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_RESPONSE", command="on" if current BT mode is sink mode, just send the broadcast Action="com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_RESPONSE", command="already_on" if the command of broadcast is "off", if current BT mode is not sink mode, just send the broadcast Action="com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_RESPONSE", command="already_off" if current BT mode is sink mode, toggle the BT mode and send the broadcast Action="com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_RESPONSE", command="off" Thank you. |

Hi Mr. SangMin, here's the test apk per your request: hit button --> skb21 to MW and nugu-response to MW nugu-request --> nugu-response to MW broadcast key change from "Value" to "command" |

Hi, Jim, I tested with A2dpDeviceService_test1-1.apk and it works correctly. Please commit it. Thank you. |

Hi, Jim, There is a request for A2DP BT operation. Now, the front BT button only works to toggle the BT sink mode. But, when you press the front BT button during connected A2DP BT device, the A2DP BT device should be disconnected. Please check the following scenario. [As-is] 1. Prepare to receive the broadcast which the Action is "com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_REQUEST", When the "com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_REQUEST" broadcast is received, if the command of broadcast is "on", if current BT mode is not sink mode, toggle the BT mode and send the broadcast Action="com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_RESPONSE", command="on" if current BT mode is sink mode, just send the broadcast Action="com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_RESPONSE", command="already_on" if the command of broadcast is "off", if current BT mode is not sink mode, just send the broadcast Action="com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_RESPONSE", command="already_off" if current BT mode is sink mode, toggle the BT mode and send the broadcast Action="com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_RESPONSE", command="off" [To-be] 1. When the front BT button is pressed, if any A2DP device is connected, disconnect the A2DP device and send the broadcast Action="com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_RESPONSE", command="off" else if current BT mode is not sink mode, toggle the BT mode and send the broadcast Action="com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_RESPONSE", command="on" if current BT mode is sink mode, toggle the BT mode and send the broadcast Action="com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_RESPONSE", command="off" 2. Prepare to receive the broadcast which the Action is "com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_REQUEST", When the "com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_REQUEST" broadcast is received, if the command of broadcast is "on", if current BT mode is not sink mode, toggle the BT mode and send the broadcast Action="com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_RESPONSE", command="on" if current BT mode is sink mode, just send the broadcast Action="com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_RESPONSE", command="already_on" if the command of broadcast is "off", if any A2DP device is connected, disconnect the A2DP device and send the broadcast Action="com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_RESPONSE", command="off" else if current BT mode is not sink mode, just send the broadcast Action="com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_RESPONSE", command="already_off" if current BT mode is sink mode, toggle the BT mode and send the broadcast Action="com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_RESPONSE", command="off" Please be careful that disconnect only A2DP device, not BT RCU or others. I think you can disconnect the A2DP device in this list(iPhone_Sangmin). $ adb shell dumpsys bluetooth_manager | grep "Bonded devices" -A 2 Bonded devices: C0:E8:62:65:F3:AD [BR/EDR] iPhone_Sangmin 14:4E:34:D1:94:07 [ LE ] BRM_BA02_407 $ adb shell dumpsys bluetooth_manager | grep A2dpSinkService -A 4 Profile: A2dpSinkService mCurrentDevice: C0:E8:62:65:F3:AD mTargetDevice: null mIncomingDevice: null StateMachine: name=A2dpSinkStateMachine state=Connected Please check this request and if you have any question, please let me know. Thank you. |

Hi, Jim, Could you please update current status? Thank you. |
Hi Mr. Sangmin, Please help to check if test3.apk could meet the requirements. |
Hi, Jim, I'm sorry for late response, I was OOO last week because of HDMI test. Before testing your new APK, I found a problem when I connect the BT device. ============================================================================================================================================= When the front BT button is pressed, if any A2DP device is connected, disconnect the A2DP device and send the broadcast Action="com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_RESPONSE", command="off" else if current BT mode is not sink mode, toggle the BT mode and send the broadcast Action="com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_RESPONSE", command="on" if current BT mode is sink mode, toggle the BT mode and send the broadcast Action="com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_RESPONSE", command="off" ============================================================================================================================================= When I try to connect the A2DP device at the first time, only the broadcast Action="com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_RESPONSE", command="on" should be sent. But, I can see the broadcast Action="com.skbb.intent.action.NUGU_BT_CTRL_RESPONSE", command="off". You can see the log message from attached file. I think there are two broadcast sending when I connect an A2DP device. 09-06 17:33:09.804 com.vasott.a2dpdeviceservice 5216 - D A2dpDeviceService responseNUGUSwitchMode, command = on 09-06 17:33:28.530 com.vasott.a2dpdeviceservice 5216 - D A2dpDeviceService responseNUGUSwitchMode, command = off Could you please check it first? 20210906_a2dp_broadcast (6,220 bytes)

Hi, Jim, Now, I'm testing A2dpDeviceService_120_test4.apk. I pressed front BT button and connect the smart phone. And, I can hear the music on STB's speaker when I play a music on smart phone. But, I can also hear the Live AV audio on STB's speaker. (When I revert A2dpDeviceService under same firmware, I can only hear the audio on STB's speaker) Could you please check it? The test firmware is 20210924 daily build version. http://altserver01.iptime.org/release_by_fxn/swan_nightly/SD_IMG/BFX-UA300_20210924_SD_v531r17_D253 Thank you. |

Hi, Jim, I think it works well until now. I'm sorry but I missed some scenario. When I connect/disconnect from Smartphone, there is no NUGU_BT_CTRL_RESPONSE broadcast. So, the SKT NUGU can't know about the current bluetooth status. I'm asking SKT about this issue, I'm not sure Foxconn should add more jobs for this issue. So, I would like to request a test firmware. (Before implementing, please keep the current source code, because following requirements are for testing.) Please implement the requirements from attached document.(6. Connect/Disconnect from A2DP source device) Thank you. |

Hi Mr. Choi, apk v124 is for sec.6 of the document. please test it with 531r21A FW |

Hi Mr. Choi, please check apk v124_test1 for "sec.6 off only" |

Hi, Jim, I'm really appreciate about your support. Now, I am testing with the final firmware(531r21A) and A2dpDeviceService_124_test1.apk. It works well but I found one issue until now. I guess this issue is because of missed scenario. I'm sorry but this function is too complicated(too many dependency on many modules) it's not easy to check the scenario. Please add one more scenario. You can see the yellow diagram from the attached document.(A2dpDeviceService_Scenario_BFX-UA300_20211021.pdf) For chapter 6, it's already done.(To remove broadcast "on") For chapter 2, please add this scenario. Thank you. |
Hi Mr. Choi, please check apk v124_test2 for "doc sec.2 1021-yellow" |
Hi, Jim, Until now, it looks perfect. I couldn't find any other case which is related with BT connect problem. Could you please push the modifications until now? Thank you. |
Hi, Jim, As you told me, there is one more sound when I disconnect the SWAN from Smartphone. I guess it happened after add last scenario.(For chapter 2, please add this scenario.) But it's needed to sync BT status with SKT NUGU service. I will check about this issue and will update soon how to fix it. Please wait to push it. Thank you. |
Hi, Jim, Please push the modifications until now.(531r21A and A2dpDeviceService_124_test2.apk) I will check remain issue(make sound twice when I disconnect device) with M/W part. Thank you. |
Hi Jim and sangmin, If all functions is ok and .apk is already committed, please close this ticket. |
